I have a cousin. Her name is Angela. She is a very good person. She lives in the North of the country and I live in the South. And because of the long distance we see each other very rarely. Usually it happens when we celebrate memorable events of our family - weddings or anniversaries. Last time I saw Angela on my brother’s wedding day. It was two years ago. But last month my dear cousin invited me and I made a short visit to her place. It was a little bit unexpected, but I really needed this two weeks vacation to rest from daily routine and see my lovely relatives. I have never been there and they have visited us many times.
I’m a very practical person. The trip was supposed to be not so long that is why I decided to take as less clothes as it was possible. In fact I’m a person who doesn’t pay much attention to clothes and fashion and in general my wardrobe consists of casual clothes. So in my package I had a couple of jeans, T-shirts, some sweaters and a jacket. The North means a cold weather. Angela’s greetings were very warm. She had good news for me – her new boyfriend Rick appeared to be a very nice guy. Angela was very surprised at seeing my baggage – it was not so heavy to carry it into the car. But it turned out that in a few days later they are planning to have a big party. Rick is going officially to invite Angela to meet his family and I was invited to the event too. But I had no suitable apparel. And Angela decided to make a surprise for me. She bought some clothes in a posh store for me to wear for dinner. It was a nice blouse and a wonderful skirt. The blouse was perfect – it suited my complexion, but as for the skirt…Angela mixed up the size of the skirt and it was too short for me. But nevertheless I decided to wear the brief skirt to dinner as I hadn’t other options. But I planned to return it to the store after dinner, because I was sure I wouldn’t wear it. Dinner was wonderful. Angela had a success among Rick’s relatives. But my brief skirt made a wrong impression on everyone who were present at the party. Rick’s parents considered me a light-minded young woman. But in spite of it I decided to keep the brief skirt in my wardrobe, because Rick’s best friend who was invited to dinner too kept an eye on me and mostly because of my new skirt.
